As you prepare to test for your Red II Belt, you
should take some time to think back to your very first class when you knew little or
nothing of the martial arts and what you were about to get yourself into. Remember those
moments of frustration when you felt that you just wanted to quit. Was it worth it to
continue even when your tired and bruised body was screaming for you to walk away from it
all? That's a question that you must answer. For this test there are virtually no new
techniques. This test simply tests you on your ability to apply those techniques that you
have learned. Your training should center around reviewing all of your techniques from the
most basic and working your way up to the most advanced. You should also attempt to modify
the techniques that you have learned and think about how each technique can be adapted in
different situations. Your study of the martial arts should be not only physical, but also
academic. What makes Tang Soo Do different from Kung Fu, or Karate, or Jujitsu? The following are your requirements for promotion to
Red II Belt:
