Adley J. "Joey" DuPuis, is a Third Degree Black Belt with more than 13 years experience in the martial arts.  His training in American Tang Soo Do began in January 1996 under Grandmaster Johnny Thompson and he obtained the rank of Black Belt in December 2000.  He trained in Aikido for a short time under an exceptional instructor, Scott Dillon, and actively participates in Yoga classes.  Sa Bom Nim DuPuis was certified as a Senior Instructor in 2001 and was promoted to Second Degree at the World Conference on 7 December 2002.

Sa Bom Nim DuPuis serves as the Examining Director for the Tang Soo Do Karate Association (TKA), headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.  As such, ensures members are assigned appropriate numbers at each level in their journey and provides quality control throughout the promotion process.  He proctors most testing sessions and recommends pass/fail on each student.  Sa Bom Nim DuPuis was the TKA Black Belt of the year in 2003, Instructor of the Year in 2001, and Student of the Year in 1996.  He was promoted to 3rd Dan and inducted into the US Martial Arts Hall of Fame in August 2008.

Joey is a Chief Master Sergeant in the US Air Force, the highest obtainable enlisted rank, with over 22 years of active service.  Sa Bom Nim DuPuis is a member of, and webmaster for, the Foreign Joint Services Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) Association, a non-profit organization formed to foster comradeship and conviviality among foreign NCOs employed in the United States of America.  He is also the Ways & Means Committee Chairman for the National Capital Region Chiefs’ Group, and an active member of the Air Force Pentagon Enlisted Counsel.  He is a certified CPR & AED instructor with the Military Training Network and an instructor in Self-Aid & Buddy Care for his military unit.  Joey is a member of the BMW Bikers of Metropolitan Washington and the Riders Association of Triumph.  As such, he actively participates in the Patriot Guard Riders, an organization who has an unwavering respect for those fallen heroes who paid the ultimate price.  

Mr. DuPuis also has a son named Andrew who will be graduating this year from High School in Florida and is currently a 2nd Degree Blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do.

Sa Bom Nim DuPuis is currently stationed at the Pentagon, Washington D.C., as of February 2005.  His current duties include Superintendent, Programs and Data Systems and serves as the Defense Integrated Military Human Resource System (DIMHRS) Total Force Workstream Lead for Reports and Cubes.
