Gary Floyd was born in 1949 in Snyder, Texas and is a graduate of Snyder High School, (class of 1968).  Gary and his wife, Lauren were married in 1970 and have 3 children, Laurie Gavigan, Kristina Alexander and Kerri Floyd.  Gary was a member of the U.S. Navy from 1970 to 1978 and received his A.S. Degree in 1973.  He is a licensed C.T. technician for Shannon Hospital and a radiology technologist at Angelo Community Hospital.  Gary has been a resident of San Angelo, Texas for the past 20 years. 

Gary began his martial arts training in1982 with the ATA under the direction of Marshall Paul, (Lubbock, Texas).  He also studied with Greg Gafford in Snyder, Texas.  In San Angelo, Gary studied Tae Kwon Do with Master Mike Sekach and Japanese Kenpo with Sifu Gerry Spearman.  Gary was introduced to Tang Soo Do by Armando Puente, a former student of Grand Master James Cummings and began his formal instruction in TSD with Master Ector Troncoso.  He received his 1^st Dan from Master Troncoso in April 2004 and was promoted to 2nd Dan December, 2006
