Donald, "Donny" Peterson is a member of the 2008 WKA/USA National Team in Point Sparring, Light Contact Sparring, Weapons, and Korean forms. The WKA World Championships were held in Orlando, Florida at the Jostens Center, November 8 through 14th, 2008. There were over forty countries participating in this event. Donny was awarded a bronze medal in light contact fighting.
Donny also has been competing in the Amateur Organization of Karate (AOK) on the North Region, and was one of five finalist for the North Region in Weapons, Fighting, and Forms. The Sate Final Championship for the three regions (North, Central, East) was held in Austin, Texas at the Convention Center on Saturday, December 6th. Donny was able to get Grand Champion on Forms. He was also able to get third place in weapons.
