Sam "The Hammer" Walthers  was promoted to 1st Dan in December of 2000.  He has been in the marital arts since he was born, (Mom says he was born on the Do Jang floor!).  He was one of the youngest TKA members to be promoted to Black Belt rank.  Sam was given the nickname "The Hammer " by Grand Master Cummings. 

Sam  is a former member of the Judson Alamo Area Aquatics Swim Club were he was a competitive swimmer, setting several state records for his age division.  Sam also played for the Windcrest Little League and swam for the Windcrest Dolphins Summer League Swim Team.  Sam is U.M.A and AOK tournament competitor and has been named grand champion and state champion in his division for the U.M.A.  Sam is a graduate of Data and Technology High School in San Antonio and is a member of the Roosevelt H.S. wrestling team.   He now attends San Antonio Community College.  He works part-time technical producer for Clear Channel Radio in San Antonio and a freelance audio technician working for the NBA and the WNBA.  He also works part-time for Abercrombie & Fitch
